This camp provides students with the opportunity to learn about robotics, engineering concepts, problem solving/ teamwork, science, and mathematics (STEM) while building an underwater ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle)  that can pick up items off the “ocean floor”. If you like robotics and the challenge of maneuvering through water, sign up for this weeklong adventure that will get you hooked. Recommended for 6th – 10th grade. Careers Related to this exploration: Naval Architecture, Naval/ Ocean Engineering, Marine/ Chemical Engineering, Civil/ Mechanical Engineering

HEBER SPRINGS WEEK TWO: June 8-12, 2020

MORNING SESSION (8am-12pm) - Baking Around The World

Cost: $80

What do you know about the different countries around the world? One of the best and simplest ways to learn is to try new foods. The world is an endless cookbook with an endless variety of recipes to try. During this week of camp, our focus will be on creating the cuisines of multiple countries.  We will be cooking up the fabulous and scrumptious flavors of Italian, Mexican, French, and Asian foods while learning about the cooking techniques and ingredients that make them unique.  Come join us as we expand our world and our palates!  No passport needed, but registration required! Recommended for 4th – 8th grade.

MORNING SESSION (8am-12pm) - Drone Flight School

Cost: $80

Whether you see them or not, drones are part of everything we do today. This course explores a wide variety of subjects through the lens of understanding and developing a particularly useful, popular, and fun technology. Students will start by learning the uses of unmanned aerial vehicles —drones— for a wide variety of purposes, including scientific endeavors, business, and photography or as a hobby. This camp dives into the basic parts of a drone, the mechanics and engineering of a drone, basic aerodynamics of flying drones and their comparison to other flying organisms, such as bats, birds or even dinosaurs. ASU-Beebe, in partnership with local pilots, is excited to provide campers a stimulating class in drone technology. No previous experience required; drones provided. Recommended for 4th – 8th grade.

AFTERNOON SESSION (1pm-5pm) - Master Makers 1.0 - 3D Printing Camp

Cost: $80
“Imagine; Create” – that’s our motto for this camp. Throughout this interactive camp, campers learn and understand how objects are prepared for 3D printing by creating models from scratch, or by modifying existing templates, in a digital environment. Campers will learn to design and create something as simple as a shield or as complex as an action figure character! Your imagination will come to life right in front of you (and you can take it home, too!). Join this camp and get ready to design to your heart’s content! No previous experience required; 3D materials provided. Recommended for 6th – 9th grade.
