2 Dates Through Jun 14, 2019

ABOUT ABOUT

Show off your creative side at one of ASU-Beebe's summer camps! We are offering six weeks of camp sessions at three campus locations: Heber Springs, Searcy, and Beebe. Vanguard Discovery Camp is for students entering the 4th-8th grades. Classes are limited to a maximum of 25 participants.

HEBER SPRINGS WEEK ONE: June 3-7, 2019

  • MORNING SESSION (8am-12pm) - Bake Like A Boss
    • Cost: $80
    • What an exciting week to step off into baking! We will create an individual omelet (called a quiche when baked in the oven) and make a muffin to go with it, because who doesn’t love breakfast? And that’s just on our first day. We will cook, create, and enjoy the delicious food we bake. Each camper will also take home the recipe for an individual item and a larger version of the recipe to cook for the whole family. At the end of the week celebration, we will develop a dessert menu to show off our new found baking skills and show off our talents to the other campers. Who knows, you may be the next MasterChef Junior with Gordon Ramsay.  Limited to 15 campers.
  • MORNING SESSION (8am-12pm) - Crime Lab
    • Cost: $80
    • Ready to solve a crime and catch a criminal? Your week of Crime Lab will introduce you to many of the basic techniques used by forensic scientists or crime scene investigators. Students will learn how to model a crime scene, determine blood types, and analyze footprints, hair, etc. Join us for a week of fun as we form an investigative team of detectives to solve crimes and catch criminals.
  • AFTERNOON SESSION (1pm-5pm) - Black Rocket: Bricks & Sticks Stop Animation
    • Cost: $80
    • Take your stop motion movies to the next level. First, create a story with Stickbots, Legos®, action figures or all three! Then watch your story come to life using special stop motion software that allows you to add special effects and go beyond the typical software on a mobile device. Students need to bring in figures, Stickbots, or Legos® from home, but all other equipment will be provided. Student-created films will be available on a password protected website to share with friends and family. Students will work in pairs or teams for most of the program.

HEBER SPRINGS WEEK TWO: June 10-14, 2019

  • MORNING SESSION (8am-12pm) - Lego® Robotics
    • Cost: $80
    • Robots in all their different shapes, sizes, and levels of complexity are vital to our everyday lives.  During Lego® Robotics camp, students will explore, experiment, and create with Lego® Robotics kits and compete with their bots on the final day of camp.  Students will work on team building exercises, strategy, programming, proto-typing, design and much more throughout this course.

  • AFTERNOON SESSION (1pm-5pm) - Black Rocket: eSports Apprentice - YouTube© Streamers and Gamers
    • Cost: $80
    • Whether you want to be the next pro gamer, streamer, or gamecaster this course will teach you the basics to get started! No longer just a hobby, eSports is the fastest growing career for the next generation. Over 400 million people watched YouTube© videos and Twitch streams of video game competitions this year alone! In this course, students will develop competitive game-play skills in Black Rocket's new eSports App, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software, and most importantly practice online safety. Students will gain full access to the eSports App and a video of their class tournament with commentary. Videos will not be broadcast publicly but will be shared with all students in the class.
